A major global event spanning more than three decades, the World Cheese Awards bring together cheesemakers, retailers, buyers, consumers and food critics worldwide. The 32nd edition of the event took place in Bergamo, Italy and set a new record with 3804 cheeses submitted.
The Studer specialty cheesery regularly shines with top results at the World Cheese Awards, having triumphed in recent years with its "Der scharfe Maxx", "Maxx 365" and "Alter Schweizer". There were three more reasons to celebrate at the latest awards ceremony.
"Der scharfe Maxx" continued its gilt-edged winning ways: Studer's cult cheese was singled out for the Super Gold title in 2019 – making it one of the 84 best cheeses in the world. "Maxx 365", the more mature brother of "Der scharfe Maxx", was also successful by picking up a silver. A third highlight in the form of a gold medal was provided by «Alter Schweizer», Studer specialty cheesery's exceptional tangy classic.
